Pet Import from Norway to Kazakhstan – Rules and Requirements
Required Documents
EU or EAEU Pet Passport
- Serves as the primary document for pet entry from Norway to Kazakhstan.
- Must include:
- Owner and pet identification details.
- Rabies vaccination certificate:
- Administered at least 30 days before entry.
- Given after the pet reaches 12 weeks of age.
- Must be valid on the date of entry.
- Clinical health examination performed within 5 days prior to travel.
- Parasite treatment records (recommended but not mandatory).
Third-Country Pet Passport
- If your pet has a passport from a non-EU/non-EAEU country, a veterinary health certificate issued and approved by the official veterinary authority in Norway may be required.
Fit-to-Fly Certificate
- Required by most airlines.
- Issued by an accredited veterinarian within 1 to 5 days before departure.
- Must confirm that the pet is healthy and fit for air travel.
Transport Requirements
Number of Pets Allowed
- Up to two pets per owner are allowed without a special permit.
Minimum Age
- Pets must be at least 3 months old to enter Kazakhstan.
Microchip
- Not mandatory, but highly recommended to avoid delays and to link the pet to its documents.
Health Check
- A clinical examination must be carried out within 5 days of departure and recorded in the passport.
Airline Requirements
Always contact your airline to confirm their specific pet travel rules. They may require cabin or cargo carrier sizes, and medical documents, but usually do not know the veterinary entry rules of the destination country.
