Pet Transport from the UAE to Uzbekistan
– Rules and Documents

Required Documents for Entry

International Veterinary Certificate

An official document confirming your pet’s health and compliance with Uzbekistan’s import requirements.

This certificate is mandatory if your pet does not have an EU Pet Passport.

Microchip

Microchipping is recommended but not required. If present, the chip must comply with ISO 11784/11785 standards.

Rabies Vaccination

  • Mandatory for entry.
  • Must be administered no earlier than 12 weeks of age.
  • Must be given at least 30 days before arrival.
  • The vaccine must be valid at the time of travel.
➕ Recommended Additional Vaccinations

These vaccinations are not mandatory for entry into Uzbekistan, but are recommended by veterinary authorities and may help prevent issues when traveling or transiting through other countries.

  • For dogs: Distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus, leptospirosis.
  • For cats: Panleukopenia, calicivirus, feline rhinotracheitis.
➕ Parasite Treatment – Click to View

Deworming and ectoparasite treatment are not mandatory for entry into Uzbekistan.

However, we highly recommend performing these treatments 5–10 days prior to departure in order to:

  • Ensure the pet’s health and cleanliness during travel
  • Avoid unnecessary delays at the border
  • Comply with transit or airline-specific requirements

If performed, details such as date and product name should be included in the veterinary certificate.

Fit-to-Fly Certificate

Required by most airlines. This certificate must be issued by a veterinarian within 1–5 days before departure.

Airline Transport

Please check your airline’s specific rules for transporting pets in the cabin or cargo hold.

Export Permission from the UAE

MOCCAE Export Permit

Before departure from the UAE, it is mandatory to obtain an official export permit through the MOCCAE system (Ministry of Climate Change and Environment).

  • Apply online via the official portal: https://www.moccae.gov.ae
  • You must upload your pet’s documents, including vaccination records and identification details.
  • After approval, an official export permit is issued.
  • This document is required to leave the UAE and may be checked before departure.

Even if all import documents are correct, the pet may still be refused departure without this export permit.

You can send this page to a veterinarian, courier, relocation agent, or any specialist involved in preparing pet travel documents or organising the transportation of a pet.

In practice, short instructions published on official websites are often incomplete or simplified. This frequently leads to mistakes in veterinary documents, problems during airline check-in, or difficulties at border control. If you have any doubts, it is better to share this page with the person preparing the documents or travel route and double-check everything before the trip.
