Pet Transport from the United Kingdom to Kazakhstan – Rules and Documents

Required Documents

Microchip

Your pet must be identified with a microchip that complies with ISO 11784/11785 standards. Microchipping must be done before the rabies vaccination.

Rabies Vaccination

Rabies vaccination is mandatory. The vaccination must be administered at least 21 days before entry into Kazakhstan. The first vaccination can only be given after the pet reaches 12 weeks of age.

Vaccination Certificate

This document must be issued by a licensed veterinarian in the United Kingdom. It is recommended to have it completed no earlier than three days before departure for dogs and no earlier than eight days before departure for cats.

The certificate must be written in both Russian and English and must include details about the owner, the pet, the vaccination, and the results of a clinical examination conducted before issuance.

Fit-to-Fly Certificate

Note: A Fit-to-Fly Certificate may also be required for air transportation.

Transportation Conditions

Number of Pets

No more than two pets per person for non-commercial purposes.

Pet Age

Pets must be at least 15 weeks old, considering vaccination and quarantine timelines.

Transportation

If air travel is used, the carrier must comply with IATA standards.

Additional Recommendations

To avoid potential issues at border crossings, it is strongly recommended to treat your pet for internal and external parasites before travel.
