Veterinary Entry Requirements for Georgia
Microchip Identification
Each pet must be identified with a microchip prior to travel. The chip must meet the following conditions:
- It must be implanted on or before the date of rabies vaccination.
- It must comply with ISO 11784/11785 standards to ensure compatibility with international scanners.
Rabies Vaccination
A valid rabies vaccination is mandatory and must be administered at least 21 days prior to travel. The vaccine is accepted only if:
- The microchip was inserted before or on the same day as the vaccination.
- The vaccine remains valid at the time of entry into Georgia.
Rabies Antibody Titer Test
All pets entering Georgia from the UAE must undergo a rabies antibody titer test. The following rules apply:
- The blood sample must be collected no earlier than 30 days after rabies vaccination.
- The test must be conducted in an officially approved veterinary laboratory in the UAE.
- The result must confirm an antibody level of at least 0.5 IU/ml.
- Once a valid result is obtained, the pet must wait a minimum of 3 months before entering Georgia.
Veterinary Health Certificate
An international veterinary certificate issued in English by an official government veterinarian is required. It must include:
- Microchip number and date of implantation.
- Rabies vaccination details, including date, manufacturer, batch number, and validity.
- Rabies titer test data – test date, laboratory details, and result.

Parasite Treatment
There is no legal requirement for deworming or external parasite treatment before entering Georgia. However, we strongly recommend treating your pet for internal and external parasites 5–10 days prior to travel to ensure comfort and hygiene.
Final Checklist Before Travel
- Ensure the health certificate is completed in English and signed by an official veterinarian.
- Verify that the rabies vaccination is valid on the day of entry into Georgia.
- Allow sufficient time for the titer test and the required 3-month waiting period.
- Confirm all microchip, vaccination, and lab details are correctly listed on the certificate.
