Rules for Importing Cats and Dogs from the United Kingdom to Uzbekistan
Required Documents for Import
Pet Health Certificate
A mandatory document for importing animals, issued by a licensed veterinarian. Must be in English; a certified translation into Uzbek may be required at smaller customs posts.
- Information about the owner and the pet (species, breed, age, coat color).
- Confirmation of rabies vaccination (date, type of vaccine, validity).
- Confirmation of treatment for parasites (internal and external).
- Statement of clinical examination conducted within five days before departure.
Microchip
Mandatory for all animals. The microchip must comply with ISO 11784/11785 standards.
Rabies Vaccination
Mandatory vaccination:
- Must be administered at least 30 days and no more than 12 months before entry.
- The first vaccination should not be given earlier than 12 weeks of age.
Although not mandatory for entry into Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture strongly recommends additional vaccinations and parasite treatment to ensure the pet’s health and to avoid complications at the border. Fit-to-Fly Certificate
Required by airlines for air transportation. Issued by a veterinarian 1–5 days before the flight.
Transportation Conditions
Number of Animals
No more than two pets per person are allowed for non-commercial purposes.
Pet Age
Pets must be at least four months old, considering the 30-day quarantine after rabies vaccination.
Carriers
Must comply with IATA standards if air transportation is used.
Recommendations for Pet Owners
Ensure all documents are completed correctly. Contact the airline to confirm their transportation rules. At smaller border crossing points, customs officials may request a certified translation of the veterinary certificate into Uzbek.
