Stop the UK Ban on Puppies and Kittens Under 6 Months – Sign the Petition

🐾 They Call It Protection. But It’s Legalised Suffering.
This concerns everyone with a heart.
The UK Government is proposing a ban on the import of puppies and kittens under 6 months old — even if loving families are waiting to welcome them.
If passed, this law would:
- Deny young animals a family during their most critical development window;
- Condemn them to be shipped like boxes — in unventilated vans, without litter trays;
- Trap them in shelters, where their fate may be loneliness or euthanasia.
This is not protection.
This is cruelty — wrapped in red tape.
What science — and conscience — says
Global veterinary research confirms: the socialisation window closes around 4 months. After that:
- Animals struggle to adapt to new families;
- Fear, anxiety, and aggression become more common;
- They’re labelled “unadoptable” and often returned to shelters.
And the shelters? They profit. The more “unsocialised victims” they house, the more funding they claim.
What this bill silently takes from you:
- Your right to send a trusted courier or volunteer to collect your pet;
- A family’s chance to bond with a young animal during the healthy imprinting window;
- The very foundation of safe, humane PET Travel.
Instead, they offer you: third-party logistics, cargo vans, and Eastern European puppy mills.
Some don’t survive the journey.
